Gianne Doherty is an inspirational and educational speaker, clean beauty advocate, co-founder of Organic Bath Co. and founder of WELL Summit.
Though she is now fully immersed in the world of clean, green living, Gianne’s professional journey began in New York City, where she worked in staffing for over ten years. When she moved to Boston in 2012 for a change of life (and pace!), she was shocked to find her skin suddenly had hives each time she applied the body lotions she’d been using for years. Enter a romantic gesture that changed the course of both of their lives: Gianne’s partner, Jay Weeks, crafted an organic, unscented, shea butter-based body butter for her. Soon, her hives were gone and in their place only glowing, soft, luminous skin remained.
With that, Gianne changed her career path, and Organic Bath Co. was born.
Gianne’s clean beauty journey completely altered her choices as a consumer. Learning all she could about clean ingredients and their impact on the body as well as the environment, Gianne became conscious of the products used to clean her home, the candles burned, the nail polishes applied, and of course—what she put on her skin.
As Gianne shared her findings with friends, family and Organic Bath Co. customers, she found she was also answering questions about the wellness movement as a whole. Seeing the need for a wellness-focused destination that focused on community, education, and empowerment, Gianne founded The W.E.L.L. Summit in 2015. The inaugural Summit kicked off in Boston to resounding accolades in 2015.
